A Celebration Day/ Lovers Poetry/ Katherine Hepburn/ Phyllis Diller

Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight. ~, ’s Housekeeping Hints, 1966

Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then. ~

It would be easy just to say

That this is us on any day.

But wiser souls than I would laugh

And interrupt on your behalf.

Your bed is roses some would say

But how do flowers find their way

To piles of grass and new mown hay?

And how did I the regal power

End up on the couch this hour?

And where’s the that shines above?

Where is the woman I do ?

And where is something I can eat

And must I sleep with these cold feet?

Perhaps there will be time again

When I can call you my best friend.

Oh, I have gone and hurt your heart

And caused this fiery sky to start.

Yes! There is beauty on display

But this is not !

Hy, David, I have enjoyed your poetry, especially Meditation, but you are good, clear and direct.

I have also liked getting to know you a little, and your thinking, in your blogging pages and you seem like a pretty nice chap.

Shall welcome you into our poetry corner with pleasure, hope you enjoy the friendly poetic interaction we share there, Zydha
